or the Broad River Community club
in Red Men's Hall. Main street. last
evening. a
This 3enr's altair was even better
than last year‘s. according to those
who attended, which is saying some-
thing. The 11111squerade was distin-
guished by its large variety of both
pretty and funny costumes and the
good natured hilarity d! all the
participants.
Quadrilles. square dances and old
fashioned waitzos all found a place
on the programs {or those in charge
so arranged the affair. that every-

During the evening tour prizes
were awarded; a first, for the, best

prize for the best dressed lady. with

was gowned in a somewhat abbre-

gold. and a large somberero. won
the prize for the best dressed man.
The prize {or the funniest dressed
lady was won by Mrs. \Villiam Hor-
ton. and rightly. too. She was a. typi-
cal "Louise Fauntle." complete to
tight check skirt split to the knee.

Mr. William Horton won the prize

There was an angel in tulle and
silver. dancing with a terrible look-
ing individual sarbed in the skull
and crossbones. Several pirates at-
tended. and even a bride. blushing
rosily the whole evening. The smal-
est and youngest of the evening was
a little girl dressed in a ballet cos—

One of the happiest little boys in
Norwalk today is Donald Gustafson.
son or Mr. and Mrs. Richard II. Gus-
tarson of 11 Platt street.
Donald has just celebrated his
fifth birthday anniversary. and feels
very much of a. man. He had a few
friends over. to help him observe the
his date, which was on Monday.
He is now of the opinion that he
is quite old enough to attend school,
having passed well, out of the “baby
age” stage now. _Incidentally he will
have that very opportunity next fall,
at which time» he can take his place
in school with the other “tellers."
