new low levels in the markets.
Leases sustained by investors who
hadfimught either stock or bond: in
years gone by were enormous. They
had had ample warnings in the
sagging of the quotation for their
securities. but many had failed to
heed it. hoping against. hope thy
some way would be round to rea-
cuo this great system from bank-
ruptcy. The disaster did not ex-
icnd, however, to the owner: of the
first mortgage underlying bonds not
to the holders of equipment obliga-
tions. For. only a day or two alter
the reccifprship. the court directed
the receircre to pay interest on the
first morlgage bonds and on the
equipment trust notes.
