- The strain of humor in this
comedy was embodied in the fact. of
lbeborah's first luncheon at the
:homc c; hcr fashionable city cou-
;:%ln. Everything which poor Deb
Ifrom the country did or said was
lwrong. keeping the audience in
lroors of laughter. The maid in the
'play. kept a little comedy of her
own going. by mimicing Deb all the
way through. behind the scenes.
The second comedy. .“Locai and
Long Distance.” had for its theme
the trials and tribulations of apoor
boy home from college, with a
broken leg. who is forced to listen
to alltho hectic telephone conver-
sations which take place in his
room. by the various neighbors who
come in to-borrow the phone.
In order to relieve his mental
agony. the boy decides to have the ~
telephone dlsconnocted at a certain
time each day. “flint ensues when
he tries to get hie beet girl on tho
phone. after it has been disconnect-
ed. furnishes a fitting climax to a
delightful comedy.

Sixteen new members are awaiting
the horrors of initiation.
More definite plans have been
made for the musical comedy. "The
Love Garden" which is to be pre-
sented by the Guild. under the di-
rection of Llewellyn Knnpp. The
play will be given in the Palace
theatre. Just one night. May 24th.
Committees for the aftair will be
appointed at the next meeting.
The Kiddie Party to be given by
the Guild April 15th was again an.

the committee in charge of this. and

arrival of the song books. and the
fact that the members are not ready
to take oh another proposition at
the present time.

that on the way down they were
held up several days of Greenville.
