ing her. Conway is sent into the in-
terior presumably on official busi-
ness. leaving the girl to fight a lone-
ly battle against her two suitors.

an old Chinese nurse who tricks
Daisy into believing she is her
mother.
Choosing between two evils.
Daisy takes what appears to be the
lesser and marries the white man.
the marriage proves a tragedy for
her husband soon thinks he learns
that her old Chinese nurse is Daisy's
mother and treats both with cruel-
ty.

Conway is compelled by his love for
Daisy to call her on the telephone
in the hope of again seeing her.
She has been warned by her hus-
band that he will kill her if she

an's latest Paramount picture.
"Coming Through." adapted from
Jack Bethsa's novel. "Bed Rock." a
picturesque story of the Alabama
coal mines. directed by Edward
Sutherland as his first work for the
screen.
The picture. which opens next
Wednesday at the Regent theatre.
brings the star to the screen in the
role of Tom Blackford. employed in
the offices of a big steel corpora-
tion. Tom has come to the conclu-
sion that to get anywhere in the
company one has to have more than
mere ability—he has to be someone.
