nected with the old time ship is
that of earnestly seeking their lan-
terns or lamps. and very interesting
and decorative. with the right sur-
roundings. many of them are.
Xumerous lamps are traded as
ship's lanterns which never went to
sea. Bays Capt. E. A. McCann in
"The Antiquarian" of New York. In,
hOWe\€r. it is a goodlooking lamp
and the owner 1s pleased with it, its
history is perhaps not so very im-
portant. but if one wishes to be sure
of the right nautical flavor. some
precaution is necessary.
An intimate knowledge of ships
