COMBUSTO isa device that is attached to the feed
door of the furnace, and is designed to supply, over the
'fuel bed, the requisite amount of pro-heated air (oxygen)
to produce perfect combustion.
It is the same'principle as applies to the bunsen burner
or the gas stove in which, in order to get the blue flame
or maximum heat, air must be mixed with the gas in the
correct proportions.

the Canadian parliament which as-
sembled at Ottaw yesterday may
have almost as important a bearing
on the welfare of the tar-mm of the
United States and on some other
American industries on legislation
passed at Washington before March
4. Dispatches from both the east-
ern and western section of the Do-
minion today indicate that many
matters affecting the United States
\vill come up for action.
The tariff wall will surely be the
center or a battle between the inter-
ests of the east and west 0! Canals.
The farmers of the prairie provinces
want, the wall lowered since they use
considt-{nhio qunniltios or American
goods. The Marltlm provinces
are insistent on a retaliatory duty to
protect their {wit and ‘ dairy‘pro-
ducts in the home market. They
also want. an export tax on wheat.
and other agricultural product! that
go to the seaboard by other than
Canadian channels. This of course,
would affect shipments of grain
passing thmuch the l'nitod Santos
and shipped ovcr American railroads
and in American Vessels.
Another question which will vitally
nil’cct the American paper industry
and the nr'wspnyn-ra oi this country
is the demand for an embargo on ex-
portation of pulp wood to the United
