evening acting on the motion of Dr.
Frederick H. Gctman and seconded
by Norris E. Pierson. the following
was unanimously passed: "That the
resignation of the Building Commit-
tee be taken from the table and ac-
cepted with proiound regret." Dr.
Getman followed with another mo-
' tion, seconded by Mrs. Mildred W.
Young. and passed to the effect.
"That the chair be empowered to
u‘ominate a new Building Committee
0‘! three members from the School
Committee."
A rding to the consensus of
opinion. the above condition grew out
of the "slight.” accorded to Dr. J.
J. Cloonan. originally the chairman
of the Building Committee and who
later was taken off that committee
and not placed on any of the three
other standing committees which
.were sponsored by Richard Plumley
who appointed himself chairman of
the Buildings and Ground Commit-
tee. Dr Cioonan did not attend last
night's meeting.
Mrs. Young‘s resignation from the
gFinance Committee was accepted
:and placed on file. Her action was
caused; she said because Mr. Plum-
ley did not consult the chairman of

the School Committee in the matter
and. "I feel that the committee was
not appointed regularly and as such
1 don't feel I can serve." A. H. Em-
ery. Jr.. suggested by M. Plumlcy at
the regular meeting of the School
Committee Januarv 6th, in place of
Postmaster Robert Whittaker. the
choice of Dr. Cloonan, resigned as
a member of the Building and
Grounds Committee. J. J. Ormond.
also resigned from that committee.

An important item which has been

Rheaume as Supervisor of Buildings
and Grounds for the remainder ot
the current fiscal year at a salary at
the rate 0! 83,500 a year {or tWelve
months. Mr. Rheaume was the re-
commended choice ot the Personnel
Committee which held its meeting
Tuesday night. January 20th. Those
present beside Miss Heroy. the chair-
man. were Dr. Ellery G. Peckham
and Norris E. Pierson.
