Rector of Church
30 Years, Resigns
GREENWICH. Oct. 21.—-—Rev. 31.
George Thompson. well known
throughout Connecticut. tendered
his resignation as rector of Christ
Episcopal church at the service Sun-
day. His resignation will take ef-
fect next June. When the pastor
leaves the church. he still have com-
pleted 30 years of service as its rec-
tor. Many New York business men
are members of its congregation.
Mr. Thompson was very active
during the war. taking a leading.
part in all of the campaigns. He
has‘been chaplain of Acacia 'aodge
of Masons of Greenwich for over 25
the church a year ago, when he
received a call from a New York
church. but was prevailed upon to
remain in Greenwich. He says he;
