Club, Saturday afternoon. No 100
per cent scores were made. This

. or the amateur shooters and the fact

The weather was ideal during the
early part of the afternoon. but gray
clouds. clouds which scented to por-
tend chilly weather, crept across the
sky, causing darkness early and
making it necessary to hurry up the
shoot. It remained for Harry Saris-
iicid to run up 44 out of n. poesihie
50. thereby making the best individ~
uni score of the afternoon and tak-
- ing‘ the first prize. a min case. eGorge
B. Bliss. made a 3!) out of a pOSsii)lo
50, winning second prize. and 8130-3
shell belt. 1”. I-{ozx-ny ruptured third
prize. a. carbide lamp, running up 38
out of a. possible 50. Alfred N. Phil

In nil, there were 2.500 rounds of
. shot used. Each man was allowed
two rounds, twonly-ilvc shots to a
round, and had to change positions
after every ril'th shot. Vi'. Herbert.
14 years of age and the youngest
I member of the league. did some
good shooting. The recoil tired him
quickly, necessitating tne relinquish-
ing of practically one round to his
alternative. who did not fare so well.
From all indications. the trap-
shooting was a succcss and it is
planned to hold another event in the
near future.
At the present time there are
. about 650 members in the league.
The prevailing Opinion among some
or the officers indicates that a. drive
wiil4be waged to increase the mem-
bership to about. 2.000. In fact cards
were distributed on the field Satur-
day outlining reasons why ll'lt'n
ought to join.
For Game Protection.
The Fish and Game League of
Southwestern Connr-cticut is doing
' wane. good work and not everyone is
aware of it. It proii-cts the song
birds and is multiplying, liberating
and conserving game birds with
s which the thickets are being stock-
ed. The streams are being stocked
with trout and other game fish.
