ment and active support of his can-
didacy; it may go on record with
an expression of approval of the
platform and candidates of the Con-

nue delicatessen store early to-
day by three armed bandits who
escaped with $184 after assault-
ing one of their victims who had
lhown reluctance in obeying their
orders.
One of the victims aroused the
anger of the robbers by his slow-
ness in complying with their
commands to “toe the mark." A
bandit struck him in the face
with his revolver.
The holdup men made their es-
cape in an automobile after a
chase by policemen.

of intoxication. The men were ar-
rested last evening by Patrolmen
Gainer and Lengyel.
The three men stated in court. this
morning that they had been work-
ing as section hands on the railroad
and had given up their position and
were going back,to New York, but
were sent in the wrong direction and
went toward the W’ashlngton street
bridge. where they met a man in
blue over alls, who purchased a. jug
of cider for them. They drank the
elder. They remembered nothing
after that until they awoke this
morning and found themselves rest-
blue overalls. who purchased a. jug
ing in a. cell at the city hall.
All of the men stated to the court
that this was the first time that they
had been arrested. They were all
anxious .to get back to Brooklyn.
