landmarks of the stage passed away
in Milton Nobles, whose death in
Brooklyn was recorded Sunday. Mr.
Nobles was approaching his eight-
ieth year and died in harness. as it
it were. He was engaged with his
fellow players in acting in "She
Stoops to Conquer” for the Players'
Club, and for the past two years has
been conspiciously successful in
“Lightin' ". which he assumed on the
death of Frank Bacon. Mr. Nobles
created. and for a generation kept
famous and familiar the molodranu

pursued her." No was a playwright
as well as an actor, and with his
wife. Dolly Nobles. has graced
vaudeville bills in all the leading
cities. For forty years he wrote and
acted in molodrnmas, the most fo-
mous of which was “The Phoenix."
He was a prolific Writer. a man of
charm and ram intelligence. H‘s
popularity was universal. and his
