the past year: improvements which
has not interfered in any way with
the natural beauties of the park.
As Mr. Bayley has said in another

business for improvements. That he
practices what he preaches is shown
'by the new 1924 features at the
resort.

we are. Off. And we are whirled
around and around: this way and

‘feature which Mr. Bayiey says is
one of the three essential things in
a park: the other two are a coaster
and a merry-go-rourzd. Albert “'1!-

into a little car suspended on abuse
cable. 0n the front of the car is a
small prepeller. The machinery
starts and we are whirled around
far above the ground in ever larger
circles. The propeller hum: and
buzzes. It. is great stud.
The Carousel.
But time flies. Let‘s play we're
kids. Gee. but. it has been years
round. Mr. Bayley sure has painted
these horses pretty nice. hasn't be.
We climb aboard and straddle a
horse: one of those kind which go up
and down. A five minute ride dur-
ing which we recall the time when
we were kids and thought the
merry-go-round was the nicest thing
on earth. And in leaving the merry-
go-round we Say “so-long” to Harry
Lockwood.
Ice-Groom Stands.
Well. it here isn't 'George Dieteno
back. “Hello. George. “'hat are
you doing here. You have the soft
drink and ice-cream concession at
the park. Pretty nice. All of. the
stands are under your directioh. eh ?"
"YVill we drink? Sure, why not.

bathing pavilion." George tells us
he is also making a. feature of Ver-

Georgc has five different stands at
the park. One is located at the
dance hall: another just north of
the hall. Another stand, a. brand
new one, is located in the center of
main grove. It is at this stand that
George is selling ice-cream sand~
wichcs something which was never
sold at the park before. Some of
George’s assistants are: Miss Joey
Ferguson. Edward Knowlton, How-
ard Weed. Frank Baker. Albert An-
gilus and George Rice. ,
But we have to leave George. Let's
go back to the hotel and let Mr.
Bayley tcil us about the rest of the
attractions while we recover from
our efforts.
“Of course. I will be glad to tell
you about the attractions at the
park." declared Mr. Hayley. "Let‘s
start with the bath—house. I re-
member in 1914 we had just 180
bath-houses. Today. including look-
ers we can accommodate 730 peo-
ple. The bath-houses are titted up
with modern drying equipment“ so
that bathing suits can be dried'out
in short order.
