of the holders of first mortgage
bonds of the Danbury and Bethel
Street Railway company in bring-
ing a. foreclosure action has caused
considerable comment among resi-
dents ot this? city. The hearing on
the foreclosure proceedings will
come up betoro the June term of
the Supe lor court. - ,
Trolley officials believe it the tirst
mortgage bond holders are success-
ful in their proceedings and take
over the road. .-whlch for the past
six years has been in the hands or
a receiver. that they will reorgan-
ize it and possibly‘abandon several
of, the lines and substitute motor
bosses.
Two lines were abandoned two
years ago by Judge J. Moss Ives.
receiver of the road. who substituted
motor husses.
In addition to the city lines the
road runs to Bethel and also to Lake
licnosia. -
The foreclosure action followed
the failure of the company to pay
lntcrcst on its firsLmortgage bonds
on May 1. The row. under the rc-
ceiver. has been meeting operating
expenses and paying part or the in-
terest to first mortgage bond hold-
ers,bul the second mortgage bond
holders have received little or no-
thing.

A movement has been stfl-icd
among the; Syrian residents of Don-
bury to form a Syrian Orthodox
church and to erect their own place
of worship. Two years ago several
of the prominent Syrians purchased
a small strip of land on Elm street
and it is on this prepcrty that it is
proposed to build the church.

pletion for the annual Memorial
Day parade and celebration and in-
dications are that the parade will
