won the first tour races in a. row.

in the fourth. The prices against
three of them were mturally short.

The Finn Lag race was the clos-
est. The good three-year-old was
conceding weight to a solid horse in
Lord Granite. and the latter gave
him a race all the way. Finn Lag
‘didn't get clear of his field until a
sixteenth had been run. Then he
drew clear. but in the next sixteenth
Lord Granite was at his saddle girth
