Questions as to bids submitted to
the Town and City Zoning Commis-
sions for the work of zoning and
planning Stamford. asked by mem-
bers of the Townn Board of Finance
at a meeting at which a. request for
a $5,000 appropriation was granted
to cover the town's share in the
work. brought out the fact that the
Zoning Commissioners, for several
reasons, had not accepted the low-
est bids submitted.
The appropriation approved by
the Town Board of Finance covers
one third of the entire $15,000 cost
of zoning and planning the city and
town. The Common Council has ap-
proved a request for 310.000 for the
city‘s share and this will be acted
upon by the City Board of Finance

fixed on zones for manufacturing.

Both men were rushed to the'
Greenwich hospital where Chard‘s
condition is considered critical. He
is suffering from fracture of the
skull and one eye is nearly cut out
and he is suffering from other cuts
and bruises. Fox escaped with
minor cuts and bruises.

Builders of Chicago for zoning and
planning city and town.
At the meeting of the Town and
City Zoning Commission at which
action was takcn the vote was
unanimous for acccpting Mr. Swan's
bid of $11,000. The commissions
did not consider zoning the city
alone exclusive of the town. Such
