WILTON, Mar. 6.——‘1‘here is heard
considerable talk in favor of the call-
ing of a. public meeting to protest
agalnnt~ the suspension of sentence
imposed on the five mentconvlctod
ot the assault and robbery ot Stani-
slaw Shodinski which occurred in
Wilton last month. Jublic opinion
is strongly arounscd and demandc
that those responiblo slxouad know
how the people of this town feel in
the matter.

The war waged on the tent cater-
pillars bHur school children goes
merrily on. It is safe to predict that.
there will be tow of those unsightly
and dominating worms in town dur-
ing the coming season. At present
the Bald Hill school ‘lcads in the
number of egg masses destroyed.
Their record has reached 9.000. The
Chestnut Hill school comes next
with 7,000 to its credit. The other
schools follow. All through the
months of March and April this
children's crusade will go on and in
May the prizes oltrced by the Wilton
Garden club will be awarded

At the Middlebrook school. taught
by Miss Blanche Smith, seven pupils
are recorded perfect in attendance
for the month of February. They are
Mary and James Yates. Edith and
Clara. Evans, Carl Lindstrom, Mar-
joric Comstock gand Jane Gerace.
This school was awarded the ban-
ncr for the best attendance tor the
month .0: January.

 

 

Special services will be held at
7:30 o'clock tonight at the Grace
