still in position on the box.
Canady summoned fire apparatus

Funeral services for Elmer Ehlezs
and Raymond Harold Ehlers. the
two young sons at Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Ehlers. who were drowned
while skating at Holly's Pond. Hunt-
ing Ridge. late Sunday afternoon,
will.be held from the home of their
parents tomorrow afternoon.
Elmer was thirteen and his brother
eleven years old. They were the
only children of Mr. and Mrs. Ehlcrs.
The drowning: are the first report-
ed in this section this season. the
result. of thin ice giving way under
skaters.
Harold was the first of the young-
sters to crash through the ice. Hts
younger brother in a. brave struggle
to rescue him also forfeited his life.
Elmer was a‘mcmber of the Boy
Scout Troop No. 12, of the Diamond
Methodist Episcopal Church. of Cos
Colo.
The fatal accident occult-ed while
the boys with their parents were
visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. \V'. Knapp,
whose home is situated near Holly's
Pond.
Immediately upon their arrival. it
is said, they run for the pond. And
a few minutes later, cries for help
were heard at the Knapp home.
\V’hen help came it was too late.
It seems that the boys. in spite of
warnings received both from Mr. W.
A. Knapp. and his daughter Gene-
vieve. who accompanied them to the
pond. rushed heedleuly onto the ice.

mer, who first put on his skates.
sank. as the ice broke. His younger
brother dashed to his help. and auc-
ceeded, at times. in catching him.
