ceived many callers who congratu-

from a severe lameness. Mr. Merrill
is in good health and takes an ac-
tive interest in curren events. Mr.
Merrill is particularly fond of, auto-

Born in Norwalk. December 30,
1830. Mr. Merrill conducted a gro-
cery store near the Wall street
bridge for many years. Hews: a.
Democrat and was a. reg :- and
deputy registrar for several terms.

Mr. Merrill retired from business
about 1891 and has since led a quiet‘
