driving and I stopped to see what
the sign rend. Suddenly out of the
darkness. and on the right hand
side of my car a large touring car
drew up. I: stopped alongside of
us.
"One of the two men in the car
stepped over to our machine and
ilcaned through one of the windows
in our sedan. lie shouted:
"'Come out of that car or I'll
crack you on the jaw:' Then the

jumped at the man and utmost went

back into the car.
“I turned around quickly and
started for the police booth which
we passed about 200 yards down the
