prices in the near future as build-

show what is called a normal line.
That is. there are no radical chang-
es or sudden fluctuations. the line
:showing a. steady but gradual rise
since January. 1921. During this
time. the amount of building con-
templated and the amount of build-
ing actually done. has not affected
the cost of building. There is nothc
ing in present conditions to indicate
that there wil be anythlny but a
very gradual fall _in prices. if any.
Mr. .‘Iorth said, therefore it seems
that there is nothing to be gained
by waiting a few months.
As far as wages are concerned. al-
though there seems to be. no scar-
city of labor at present, there are
no requests for work at reduced
wages. Laborers. though. who come
from out-of—town. and who until re-
cently would not work for their regu-
lar wages plus the est of commu-
tation. are now willing to work for
the regular wages without this ad-
ditional charge.
