Puruant to the provisions of that certain act entitled "AN ACT CONCERNING ZONING IN CER- TAIN CITIES AND TOWNS." adopted by the legislature of the State of Con- necticut at its January Session. 1923. and approved June 7th, 1923. a Zon- ing Commission and a Board of Ad- justment for the. City of Norwalk shall be appointed. which Commission and which Board shall each consxst of five members and respectively shall have and exercise all of the powers set forth in the act aforesaid to be exercised respectively by zoning com- missions and by boards of adjust- merits. The council of said city either by resolution or by ballot shall appoint the mcmbcrs of said Commis- sion and of said Board. and each of said appointees shall qualify by tak- ing the oath prescribed by the city charter for appointive officers. Sec. 3. Zoning Commission shall be appointed for terms of one. two. three. four and five years respectively, in the order of their appointment by the council. Annually after said first appointments there shall be appointed one member of said commission for the term of five years. Each member of said commission shall continue to serve until his successor shall have been appointed and qualified. In the event that a vacancy shall occur. the coun- cil shall appoint to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term. Sec. 4.
