Mrs. Minnie Ferguson. 0: 571 Pac-
ific street. lflqommitted suicide at her

evening by taking a large dose of
carbolic acid.
She died at the Stamford Hospital
shortly after she was rushed there in
a. taxi. Nervousness, her husband
said; was the reason for taking ‘her
lite. '
After Mrs. Ferguson had complet-
ed dinner for her husband. James
Ferguson, a. mechanic at the Yale and
Towns Company’s plant. who had re-
turned home from work shortly utter
five o'clock. she came running into
the kitchen where he was sitting and
cried. “Jim. I have taken carboiic
acid. It you want to save me take
me to the hospital right away."
Frank Baron. a. taxi driver. who
lives at the same address. was at
home at the time and removed Mrs.
Ferguson to the hoapitai in an un-
cnncious condition. She died shortly
after her arrival there. hospital auth-
orities said.
The carbollc acid, which was the
cause of her death. :as purchased,
the police say. at tho Boswell Drug
Company. or 113 Greenwich avenue.
Greenwich. Mr. Ferguson said last
night that t» his belief his wife had
not been to Greenwich since July 14.
It was quite possible though. he ad—
ded. that she purchased it. at that
time and kept it in their home. _
“My wife has been a. victim of her-
past and
during many of her depressing mo-
ments she has threatened to end her
life." Mr. Ferguson told the police.
"Many a time she would say ‘I think
I'll end it all' as she would be dis-
couraged by her condition." Mrs.
Ferguson has been under a physi-
cians care a long time, her husband
said last night.
The Fergusons. a middle-aged cou-
ple. have live“! in Stamford but three
months. moving to this city from
Greenwich. There are no children in
the family.
