Company Report.
Sales of Ford cars and trucks in
the United States for the month of
May totaled 111.806 according to a
report just issued by the Ford MStor
Company.
The May sales were more than 6.500
greater than those of April. due to in-
creased output.
Production has been the only limit-
ing factor in the sales 0: Ford cars
and trucks since January. (or at
all times orders on hand have been in
excess of the manufacturing capacity

The high production schedule
which has been in effect the last few
months. however. permitted May to

FEW ACCIDENTS
DUE TO SKIDDING
A careful record of accidents kept
within the State of California re-
veals that compared to accidents from
other causes. accidents caused by
skidding constitute only 2.4 per cent.
Thirty-one per cent. of all accidents
were due to reckless driving and
speeding. The remaining 66.6 per
cent. were due to other causes. chiei
among which were confusion. inex-
perienced handling. lost. control,
broken steering apparatus. no lights.
dauling headlights. intoxication. fail-
ure of brakes. travelling unknown
road. children and other pedestrians
stepping directly in front of. machines.
cross accidents. attempt to cross
ahead of trains. act of knowledge
that a. crossing existed at the point,
right-of-way misunderstandings at in-
tersections and others.
Skidding is a minor cause. but be-
cause of its unusual nature and its
uncommonly amazing results. it oc-
cupies an magically prominent place
in the minds of the motoring public.
