The newly organised Southern Fair.
field County baseball league will hold
a meeting this evening at the home
of Manager Wallace Palmer oi the
East End team for the purpose of
electing officers and arranging a play-
ing schedule for xthe season.
At the present time it~is planned
to play 20 games daring the remain-

der of the season. wiih the first games
in the league being played on June 24.
The present schedule is arranged so
that each team will play
on their home diamonds. it is ex-
pected that this schedule will be ap-
prm-ed of at this evening's meeting.
I'mpires and an official baseball
wil lalso be selected this evening. it
is expected that the Goldsmith base—
ball will be adopted as the official ball
for the season. The makers of this
baseball hate offered to donate a
large trophy to go to the winner of
the championship. ‘4 their ball is
adopted by the league.
At the present time the league.
which is composed of baseball teams
in the southern part of Fairfleld
County. looks like «'1 ast amid success.
The teams who will make up the
league are all last organiaations. and
all are good drawing cards. All of
:he cities in which the league will op-
erate are close together and the tra-
veling can be done by trolley. which
fact will tend to keep traveling ex-
penses down.

Four Sunday games of baseball are
scheduled tomorrow in the neighbor-
hood of Norwalk and the fans will put
in a busy afternoon to say nothing or
the players. The big attraction, or
cour‘e. will be the game between the
Lockwoods and the N. V. A. team.
but the others will hold just as keen
an interest locally. The batting or-

that its members can do something
