' Repealer Seems Dead —
HARTFORD, June 6.—-—An attempt
was made in the senate yesterday to
Drce action on the petition submit-
ted sometime ago by Senator McGrath
and :0 persons. some of them mem-
bers of the General Assembly. for
the repeal of the Connecticut Prohi-
bition Enforcement statute. Senator
Thomas F. McGrath ot Waterbury ot—
tered a resolution caling upon the
Judiciary committe to report forth-
with upon the repealer petition reter- '
red to it about two weeks ago.
By a. vote of 18 to 11. it was
voted to admit the resolution and it
was then passed without opposition. It .
went to the House. under suspension
at the rules. but the House retused to
admit the resolution, and the matter
dies by disagreeing action.
