While this is going on the Silllman
company of Bridgeport. will repair
the warrenite sections through the en-
tire town of Westport. The Shore
road from Compo Beach to Saun-
tuck will be started within three
weeks and the Post road next Mon-
day. With the town repairing its
small roads and the two parallel
state roads under construction, mo-
tor traffic will be extremely dimcult.
It will be the latter part of July be-
fore the roads are about“ completed.
This is the most extensive rebuild-
ing program ever attempted at once
in Weetport. The Greens Far-nu mo-
tion 6: the Shore road also is not
completed. Sayers! extra. men will
have to be sworn in as special om
cers to take care or the tunic on the
various roads under construction.
File state highway department has
begun to rebuild the Bridge street
bridge over the Snugatuck river in
Saugatuck. The town at Westport
lost its enort early in the spring to
secure money for a new bridge and
since then the state decided to take
over the bridge July 1. This will re-
lleve the town of all responsibility {or
the structure. Due to the weak con-
dition of the bridge the slate men
are relaying the flooring. The main
pivot beams will be fixed so the heavy
beach trniiic will not cause may acci-
dents. The town has had the sp-
preach from Riverside avenue to the
bridge rebuilt with crushed stone and
tar. The state will also have to re-
pair theturntnbie of the bridge as it
is opened and closed by hand power. ,
The town started repairing the sec—
ond one of the Burr‘s Bridges that
broke last week under a heavy truck.
A new green beam was placed in posi-
tion so the bridge can be used a! once.
