mens’ organisations of the dye local
churchee attended the united meet.-
ing. held in the Boyle eehoot on
Tuesday afternoon. It was decided to
hold a community ran- the latter part
of July. The object or the fair is to
have all. the local churches join
forces and make it a banner event.
The proceeds oi: the fair will be die
vided equally among the five churches
of the town. Deep interest is being
taken in this subject and it is thought
that plan; can be made for a. very ‘
successful event.

at Formal Reception
to New Pastor
There was a large attendance lust
evening at the South Norwalk Metho-
dist Episcopal church. when a, formal
reception was given in honor of the
new pastor. Reverend Andrew F.
Chamberlain and his wife, Mrs.
Chamberlain. A number of the mem-
bers and friends of the church gather-
ed in the church parlors. where Chas.
1’. Tristram, the chairman for the oc-
casion. introduced the pastor and Mrs.
Chamberlain. and also the musicians;
and speakers of the evening.
Reverend Fred H. Jacobs. pastor of
the South. Norwaik Congregational
church, gave the address of welcome
to the new pastor. and pledged his
co—opcrstion for the best of the King-
dom. and for the good of the com-
munity. A letter of greeting was also
read from the Reverend L. J. Shepiefiz
pastor of the South Korwaik Baptist
church. who because of other business
was unable to attend last evening.
The program of entertainment con-
sisted of musical selections by the
church quartette. and solos by Mr.'
and Mrs. Wilkinson. and Mr. Gray.
also a duct by Mir. and Mrs. “'ilkin-
son. Miss Sample being the pianist.
Mr. and Mrsullollie Siauson. escort-
ed Reverend and Mrs. Chamberlain to
the receiving line and friends were
given the opportunity to, exchange the
handshake of friendship and greeting.
The Ladies Aid Society serxed re-
freshmcnts of ice cream and cake. and
the affair clotted at a late hour. Mrs.
Chamberlain was presented by the
ladies of the church with a handsome
bouquet consisting of four dozen pink
roses. emblematical of their cordial
good wishes and esteem.
