Say They Stole Baseball

STAMFORD. May 15.—
Wo high school boys. who it is
alleged broke into the Masseo Country
Schodl in Shippan yesterday morning.
and carried away baseball toga. shoes.
shirts. belts. and other articles valued
at approximately 830, were arrested
by the police last night.
The youthful pair were taken to
police headquarters. where it is said
they addmitted their guilt. In ac-
cordance with the statutes of the
State of Connecticut. their names are
being withheld. as both are under
sixteen years of age.
Masses School was in session the
police say. when the boys entered the
main dinning-room by way of a win-
dow. through which they went into the
locker-room where they discovered
their loot. Gathering the stolen goods
the pair retraced their steps out of
[the building and across the campus
and later hid them near their homes.
Detective Sergeant James Thewlls
was assigned to the case and soon lo-
cated the culprits at their homes. The
stolen articles will be returned to the.
owners this morning.

\VASHING'I‘ON. May 15.—The or-
ganisation of 'the Turkish government
of Angora shows a sweeping attempt
at Western demoaacy.
The new Turkish constitution is em-
bodied in a law, lmown as the “Fund-
amcntal Law." It decrees that con-
trary to thJusage prevalent in West-
ern monarchit-s, the sovereignty oi the
nation is not shared by the ruler and
the parliament. as representing the
nation. but is vested in the nation
alone. It is exercised b the ”Grand
Navlonal Assembly." e ed on the
basis or general and dit-ect suflrags.
Irhe assembly alone is entitled to
declare war or to make peace. It
elects its president—this office is held
by Mustapha Kernel Pasha—who is
the first omcial of the state. The
cabinet is not nominated. but like-
wise elected by the'National Assembly
