Opening Doors
The United States ii now spend-
ing over a billion of dollars
annually on public school ethica-
tion, and many people feel it is.
an awful sum and should be cut‘
down. And yet there are great
masses of people whose education
is of a fragmentary character.
They are not fitted for citizenship,
or for industry or business.
If this country is to get the full
benefits that would flow from a
well trained and intelligent pop-
ulation, much must be done for
various classes of people who have
had limited or no schooling.
Millions of aliens need instruction in

bound to make something of them-
selves.
