celebrated its first birthday with a so-
cial gathering at the Broad River
chapel, last evening. From an asso-

ler. presented the club with a birth-
day cake in which there was one
candle. officers were elected as fol-

Mrs. Fred Ferris. Following the busi-
ness meeting a social time, with a
program of entertainment. was en-
joyed. Refreshments were served

monthly meeting at their quarters in
Odd Fellows' hall. last evening. at
which time several important matters
were discussed.
Plans were gone over for the Joint
Poppy Day of the Godfrey Post and
the Mulvoy-Tarlov Post of the Veter-
ans of Foreign “’ars. which will be
held on May 26. On that day the
auxilarles of the both posts will sell
poppies on the streets, as has been
the custom during the past two years.
Memorial Day plans were also talked
over. After the meeting refresh-
ments were served by the auxilary of
the post. Dancing and other enter-
tainment also took place. Several
new applications were received at the
meeting.
