paired and touched up in exact re-
production by Carl Rellstab. foreman
of the composing room at the Darien
Review plant. and a well- known
Dorian young man.
The Naroton Heights Engine Com-
pany. No. 1. have been making many
improvanentn on their fire fighting
apparatus. The truck has been cut
down making it less likely to upset,
and it also been equipped with new
tires and tubes. representing“ an ap-
proximate expeuditura of 3300. En-
gineer Ottxiter and his enchant. Floyd
Bartoes. have been doing _work in
their spare time. The members of the
company are also working on the
service truck. painting it and other-
wise‘improvlng the condition of the

The Darlen Fire Department was
called out twice on Saturday evening
to brush and grass fires. The first fire
occured at 10:15. in the rear of the
property owned by Herbertimniers-
90013.1! Tokeueke. The primer and
the new Lambqp truck responded.
This was the first hal'test for the
Lambee. although it was taken out
for a trial trip in the afternodm. Harry
'1'. Lutterxnan. popular owner of the
Depot Garage, had the honor of driv-
ing the truck on its trips. Mr. Lutter-
man will be the regular driver of the
truck. The second fire occurcd at
12:30. and the Darien fire-eaters were
roused from their numbers. but re-
ported in record.breakmg time. The
fire was on the property_of Frank J.
Egan. of 0x Ridge Road. and was
soon extinguished by the flue~work of
the local fire fighters. No damage
was done totither property.

The new garage and auto accessory
store which is being built. on the Post
Road by George Dugdale is rapidly
nearing completion. The building is
handsomely constructed and is quite
an acquisition to the corner. The
new garage will be open all night
and will carry a full line of up-to-
date auto supplies.
