has resulted in a peremptory order
by the City Health Officer that the
proprietor must clean up, or the sale
of his milk in Stamford be prohibited.
Health Officer J. J. Ryle. gave the
ultimatmn to the Greenwich milk
dealer, after a detailed inspection of
husband surrounding dairies by State
Deputy Fowler, of the Dairy and Food
‘ Commissioner's office at Hartford.
Mr. Fowler has been in Stamford
working in conjunction with Milk and
Food Inspector C. O. Leary.
Dr. Ryle said last night that there
is one milk dairy in Stamford that
soon will be under the ban. if the
proprietor fails to keep his promises.
His place has been visited several
times and the health authorities are
nnow marking time.

SPOONING REVEALS
MANY GO “NOT FAR”
NEW YORK, April 6.—The very
candid questionnaire sent out to mar-
ried women by the Bureau of Social
lcr. Jr.. organization has up to now
been productive of more than 1.000
answers. Most Of them are from col-
lege graduates.
To the question, "hOw far ,did you
go in spooning" twenty-one answer-
ed "not far." Fifty drew the line at
"kissing only;" 1004 admitted “kiss-
ing and hugging," and (5 had ex-
perienced “hugging." “kissing" and
“fondling." while a. group of 144 ad—
mitted unrestrained spooning: 375
women admitted they had 'spooncd"
prior to marriage with others than
their sweethearts. Those who had
never “spooned” save with the men
to whom they were engaged to wed
numbered 208. Those who had nev-
er spooncd with any one prior to
marriage numbered 389. There were
twenty-eight women who did not an-
swer the question. '
Of the 1.000 answers, 681 were
from college women. alumnae of
Vassar. Smith. “'ellealey and other
