year's annual meeting surpass that of

of the general convention committee
which was announced at the executive
offices or the Chamber 01 Commerce

be held at the Hotel Bond, Hartford.
on May 16th and 17th, and plans are
bemg made to take care of over one

General John F. O'Ryan, New York,
commander of that state's National
Guard divisiOn for years, was today
appointed special’counsel {or the Sen-
ate committee to investigate the Vet—
eran's Bureau.
He will begin immediately an in-
quiry i to the charges of irregularities
and msmanagement of the Bureau
that prompted the Senate to order
the inquiry.
General O'Rynn is to have absolute
freedom of action in making the pre-
