A wild deer was seen on Myrtle
Avenue one daNast week. canal":
much excitement amoug the RTE:
children. The deep mews have been
a hardship to the bird! and wild ani-
mals and the deer was undoubtedly
hunting for i'ood.
A rather disastro‘ds fire occurred in
the home of Henry Rahleigh on Myr-
tle Avenue on Saturday about five
o’clock in the, afternoon. A maid
lighted an oil stove. the wick did not
properly ignite. W'hen she leaned over
to ascertain the cause. the wick
flared up or the stove exploded. i8-
niting her apron and hair.‘and spread
to the curtains. The maid was not
badly burned. but is suffering” from
shock. A mattress thrown out of the
window. contained a. sum of money
hidden in it by the maid. John Ilah-
leigh fell down the stairs in the ex-
citement and was somewhat bruised
The attic and one side of the house
were badly burned and consi\‘ Ihle
damage was done to the furniture.
