The Merchants’ Express, which
passes through South Norwalk about 5
o’clock each day on its way from New
York -to Boston, was delayed here
over an hour and a half on Saturday
afternoon. At the crossover between
the railroad station and the Washing-
ton street bridge one of the Pullman
cats in the center of the train jumped
the tract. . Fortunately the engineer
succeeded in stopping the locomotive
before any further damage was done.

laws they “show themselves to be
more persistent violators than men,"
declared Judge Arthur M. Comley in
the City Court today basing the
statement on his experience in trying
liquor cases here.
The statement was made on con-
nection with his refusal to release on
her own recognizance, Mrs. Stella
\Vyzvynski. of Tunxis Hill Road.

law yesterday. was held in bonds of

ley cited the recent case of Mrs. So-
phic Agonis. of South Main Street.
who appeared in court repeatedly for
violations of the liquor law. despite
all warnings given her by court ofii-
cials.
The case of Mrs. “'ym'ynski and
the others arrested as a result of the
shooting affray in the Park Avenue
restaurant, will come up in City
Court next Saturday.
