“To Have and to Hold" Plays Last
Day‘s Engagement—A Splendid
Picture

“To Have and to Hold." a splendid
feature attraction on the Paramount
program will have its final run at the
Regent theatre today. The picture
has been playing since W'ednesday and
it has created as much. if not more
talk than any other production that
has been offered in many months.
Betty Compson and Bert Lytell are
the feature players but there is a sup-
porting cast that is not to be over-
looked. Manager Esterson has had
many favorable comments on the pic-
ture and the last showing today is ex—
pected to be attended by an unusually
large number of people.

15’. Bisseli. of Ridgefleld 'is expected to
be the next State Fuel Administrator
according to announcement by Gov-
ernor Charles t-A. Templeton in Hart-
ford 'last night. Governor Temple-
ton said that he . would delay
making a. formal appointment until
it has been determined what form
fuel control legislation now pending
in the General Assembly will take.

At the same time Governor Tem-
pleton indicated that he Was investi-
gating the piight of many small
towns which are in need of, coal. In
a. conference with the governor yes-
terday afternooon, Senator Philg T.
Plait. of. Newtown, pointed out that
because small town coal consignments
were small. they not infrequently
were sidetracked to give right of way
to larger shipments and that as a. re-
sult of this practice a. condition of
real need existed in many small
towns. -

The governor promised aid and
asked State Police Superintendent Ro-
bert ’1‘. Hurley who has been check-
ing up coal shipments to inform him
of the number of consignments for
small towns that were found side-
tracked.
