trucks. motor buses and "demonstra-
tors. ” which are said not to be busing

licensing of all drivers, including
auto owners, at the cost of from 81

would have to undergo a mental and

All this besides the revenue con-

Beginning tomorrow evening there
will be an interesting series or discus,-
sions at the Mid Week serVico of the
Church on the great little books of
devotion which have inspired men and
women in the Christian ages. They
will incude the “Confessions of Au-
gustine." Thomas A'Kempls "Imita-
tlon of Christ." Law's “Serious Call."
Bunyan's “Pilgrim's Progress"- and
Keble's “Christian Year." Fort tomor-
row evening at the 7:45 o'clock meet-
ing the "Imitation of Christ" will be
the subject. These books are good for
hungry hearts and all such are in-
vitcd.

This week a Church attendance
canvas is being carried on by about
forty members 0! the Church. The
church membership is being asked to
pledge themselves to the put-pose of
attending Church regularly at least
once on Sunday from now until Easter
time. Where the Church is weak the
moral life of the community is bound
to be low and its social bonds week.
A sense of need of religious life should
lead all Church members especially

Next Sunday morning the Church
will have its monthly communion
service with admission of new mem-
bers. Being the: first Sunday. or the
year. and the service which is pecu—
liarly one of christian brotherhood. It
should be fitting that a large number
of persons. should attend.

‘The offering next Sundaymorning
at the communion service will be for
the Nor-walk Hospital. All hospitals
need financial support from. their
communities; they cannot be going
business concerns. paying their own
way. except in rare cases. All attend-
ants at the service next Sunday morn-
ing are therefore urged to remember
that the regular altering for this serv-
ice will go to the local hospital, and to
make their best contribution.

William Ungvury Settles for so With-
out Costs. '

Washington street, when he was ar-

Ungvary left his car standing for
twenty-three minutes in front or the

south side of Washington street. from
11:17 until 11: 40 o',clock Saturday

morning. This is the restricted area
of Washingto street, where no cars
are allowed 0 park.

Ungvary said that he had not real-
ized that his car had stood for that
length of time. and said that he had
not noticed the warning signs on the
poles. but had later gone to make
sure that they were posted and when
he had looked for them, had noticed
them. They had escaped his notice
before. as they were quite a. little dis-
tance in the air.
