Co.. were called on strike Monday
by Local 3 of the United Hatters.
According to Herman Finkelstein.
manager of the local, nine-tenths of
the workers came out. but this state-
ment was flatly denied at the offces
or the firm. where it was declared
that the plant was operating.
The strike followed the refusal of
the company to operate a union shop.
Mr. Pinkolstcin said.‘ The union also
believes that Sarnoff still has an in-
ir-rcst in the hut manufacturing plant
at 419 Lafayette street and that the
transfer to Friedman & Herman was.
made in order to bring nl-out non-
union conditions. The Sarnoff-firing
