history of the Bureau of War Risk
Insurance and the subsequent creation
of the U. 5. Veterans’ Bureau. It is
largely because of the whole-hearted
co—operation and assistance or the
American Red Cross during thOse
early days that the colossal task was
accomplished. '
We, of the Veterans' Bureau, have:
had many occasions to closely ObSEI'VGJ
the workings of the Red Cross, and‘
it is with a sense of gratitude and
deep appreciation that the- bureau
thanks the organisation and “3 “’m‘k‘
ers for the splendid manner in which
assistance was given every representa-
tive of the bureau in the pcrtormnnce
of its gigantic tank. Many times has
thebureau called on the Red Cross
for assistance—many times for advice
-——and, on those occasions. the Red
Cross has .always upheld the tradi-
tions of its wonderful organization by
giving both in more than' full meas-
ure.
It is probable that for many Years
to come our problems will be closely
