Tonight and tomorrow night there
will be special attractions at ihe May-
flower Hook & Ladder Company’s fair
which is being held at Community
Hall. this week. There was a good
attendance at last night’s gathering.
Snappers have disappeared from lo
cal waters. only a. straggier or two
being caught. Frost fish are begin-
ning to bite well. especially oft Bette
island. whiel flat fish and eels are
bitings well. A few smelt are being
caught. and mackerel are also caught
once in a while.
Plans for a. supper to be served on
Tuesday evening. October 24th, in
the Sunday school rooms of the
church were made. at the meeting yes-
terday afternoon of the. Women's Aux-
iliary of Christ church. held in the
basement of the church. Other plans
'or the future were also discussed.
Local residents who have made ap-
plication to become voters are warned
that the first session to make voters
will 0 held tomorrow. Saturday in

the Sunday school are to attend the
services as well. Holy CommuniOn
will be held at 8:30 o'clock in the
morning.

yesterday to surprise Miss Mary
Sabre-ck. of Cove avenue. at a party
at her home last night. the occasion
being her 15th birthday anniversary.

are her sister and brother. while
Charles and “'illiam Schreck are her
uncles. In addition to these erla-
lives a number of local relatives and
. {fiends gathered at the young woman's
home and helped her celebrate. There
. was a. line, large birthday cake with 15"
candles on it. and there were games,
dancing and refreshments to make the
evening a merry one.
