for the year 1921-1922. as delivered
at the annual meeting of the Associa-
tion hold on Tuesday monsoon.» at
Community hall. ls given at length be-
low. The report was read by the re-
tiring president, Mrs. Wallace Marvin.

and has galned eighty-three new
members for the Association. making
two hundred and ten active and forty-
seven honorary members. Two have
moved out of town and death has
claimed three loyal friends.
A committee thoroughly fitted for
the work and faithful in the perform-
ance of it has been our Vlsiung Com-
mittee. Its members Fave made
ve hundred and seventy-nine calls
upon the slclt. the shut-ins and
strangers in the community. ‘
During the Christmas season. thir-
ty-two cards were sent to aged
friends. truit and flowers sent to
thirty-five members who have been ill.
and blooming plants to thirty-one
friends or the Association. Thiocom-
mlttee has raised the funds to carry
on the work‘. thus receiving be old
from the Association tressurY.
Closely allied to it in work is our
School and Relief Committee. Co-
operation with our teachers has
brought needy assistance to many.
Five baskets of fruit. two overcoats.
cap. shoes. trousers and a suit have
been given. besides food and deilca~
clee for a. sick mother. hot dinners
for one family and a. large quantity OI
’groceries. etc.. {or two families in
desperate need.
The Grounds Committee has kept
the shrubs and grass at the east-
"bound station in good condition. also
caring for the grounds at Community
hall.
The Club Committee has conferred
at various times with the Y. M. C. C.
in regard to their quarters in the
basement. and owing to the need at
more space for kitchen purposes. the
boys kindly removed thelr mrnlsh-
lngs tomther quarters. .
The House committee purchased
{or the Hall. twenty-four chairs.
placed necemary scmns in the base-
ment and moved the gas range and
sink from the Hall to the kitchen.

our auditorium.
A much needed sddltlon to our Hall
was the fine new celllnx and wall.
This work was scéompllshed under
the supervision of the Bulldlng Com-
mlttee and with rearranged “shuns
fixtures our Hall has become more at-
tractlvo and vastly more comfortable-

Throughout the year the Boy Scouts

given much pleasure to our peOple

dance. also swelling our treasury to
the extent of 838.00.
Our Public Service Commlttee in-
terviewed many owners of unsightly
lots and succeeded to having condi-
tions improved in most cases.
Through co-operatlon with our
Councilman, attention was brought to
the City council of exytlng conditions
at the Public Dumping grounds near
the Washington Street bridge While
some improvement has been noted. it
is hoped that the city will make dras-
tlc changes berm-e another summer. .
The lerarypommlttee has receiv-
ed one hundred and sixty-six books as
gifts and purchased {arty-seven. ‘. The
members accessioned one hundred
and nifty-eight books.~ mended three _
hundred and sixty-five and circulated
four thousand. four hundred and
eighty-nine during the year. an emer-
iugc of thirty-nine each library day.
Their receipts were $208.69, expenses
8170.28, leaving a balance of 838.36.
The Finance Committee me up-
polnted to raise money solely for our
Mortgage fund. By means of penny
bags. rummage sales and a Phantom
Fair, 81,167.00 was realised. This.
with the proceeds or the very success-
ful Bazaar held last Beptembe-r. .en-
ablcd us to pay. 81,569.00 on our
mortgage, so that the original debt of
$6,000.00 on, our Hall
duccd to $3.500.00.'
