To the surprise and delight of a
great many faithful fans, the Wilton
Club regained their composure and
eliminated all signs of nervousness
when they played the K. of C. at the
Baxter grounds yesterday. A good
sized crows was in attendance and
without doubt it would have been
much larger if there had not been so
many deubtlng Thomases spring up
since the Wilton team fell into a
slump.

the team will be in a much stronger
condition than before.
Credit is due to both teams and to
the crowd for the extremely orderly
game as there was not one word of
dissent .‘- trouble during the entire
game.» This sort of ball playing up-
lifts the game.

The Kaceys started off with a rush
in the first inning. scoring four runs
on in few hits and costly errors. but
Liptack did not lose heart, only work-
ing harder. He did not allow another
run until the eighth when the Kaceys
made one more.

Cooke started in the box for the
Knights but it was not. long before the
rejuve‘ated Farmers fell on to his
curves with a vengeance and he was
yanked out in the fifth. after Vi'ilton
had gained a one run lead. Connolly
and ll.‘.'fer took up thespitching bur—
den for the remainder of the g ,
but {hey could not check the Farme .
who made a total score of fourteen
runs.

Liptack was given flue support by
the Fabners who tightened .up and.
phyed wonderful ball. The infield
played classy ball. showing much
speed. The outfield. with a few ex-
ceptions, played good ball. but a cost«
ly error in right litgl gave the Kacey:
three runs. ' . .

{Manager Brown must have gotten
some tonic for his team, us'it workpd
wonders both in the fielding and bar
ting. Everytli‘armer made a hit save
Liptack. Russ Hall_struck out once,
but the next time up he lined out a
