computation of the delegate strength

the votes they cast. in the presidential
election of two years ago. The great
majority of the aggregate of gains
made was due to the admission of
women voters, for the first time. Hart-
ford had only twenty votes in the
State conventions of 1920; New Haven
had 24 and Bridgeport 19.
It is because of the Democratic plan
of representation. which allows a
town. or city, twice as many delegates
as it has representatives in the Gen,—
eral Assembly and one additional del—
egate for each 1,000 votes cast in that
town in the last State election, that
the State convention this year will
have 779 delegates. as compared to
654 two years ago.
