COMPO BEACH, July 25'.-—Six
guards at Compo Beach witnessed the
quietest week end 'ot the season.
From last Friday until today there
have been no need of the life guards
by any of the bathers nor have any of
the bothers applied to Surgeon Frank
Dayton for assistance in the medical
line. There was the usual crowd of
bothers at the beach, but they seemed
to be more careful than usual and did
not have to seek aid from the guards.
Beginning this week Commodore
Addison Austin will have a life guard
stationed on the watch tower that is
“front of each pavilion. The regu:
lar life boat patrols will be maintained]
as usual.
The life guards will take action at
their next meeting on organizing a
junior life guard body of fellows, be-
tween the ages of 16 and 17 years.
The plan is to make these boys capa-

trout on the trunk of a tree about,

fly so that it fell on the water just
where he had seen that. trout jump.
Hardly had it. touched the water

away. When he was-tired out Farmer
Brown’s Boy gently drew him ashore,
