curb debate on the Tariff bill. Al-

At a meeting held at 9 o'clock this
morning at the Norwaik Boat club the
judges of the Phoenix-Pioneer carni-
val parade. héld Monday night select-
ed the prize winners. Because of the
excellence of the scores of floats in the
procession. one or the finest ever held
in Norwalk. the judges faced a din‘i-
cult task. and it was only by awarding
special prizes that they were able to
iccomplishfithis task in a fair manner.
This was particularly true in the case
of ‘semié-mil'itary' organizations. the
floats and turnouts of which were so
nearly equal in quality that it was
found impossible to select first and
