arraigned before Judge Young in the
Stamford city court this morning.
charged with the non support of his
wife and children. After hearing
considcrable testimony Judge Young
ordened the man to pay $1 ’ a week
towards their support and placed him
under bonds of $625 for six months.
In lieu of this he could sene a. jail
sentence of three months.
Attorney Daniel F. B. Hickey. who
represented the accused took an ap-
pral of the case. Garfield. it will be
recalled, was arrested in Stamflord
some time ago and brought to this
city. but inasmuch as the local court
had no jurisdiction over the case. and
a similar charge was pending in
Stamford. the case automatically re—
turned to that citv. His wife makes
her home in Norwalk.
