LOUISVILLE, K353. Jan. 13.—The
most wonderful discovery since Bac-
chus learned what one could do with
a grape has just been disclosed.
Perhaps it is a bit previous to
spread the news but Matthew Hacker
prominent Louisville readout. has a
plan for the manufacture of “alcoholic
gas." which produces all the joyous
"makin's” of old and in noway con-
flicts with Mr. \‘olstead‘s prohibition
law.
Bring on the cocktails and Tom and
Jerries. Goodbye poison rum.
His plans have passed the experi~
mental stage and the "gas" is to be
retaiied throughout the land, accord-
ing to the inventor. -
”The vastead law," says Mr. Hack-
er. “prohibits the sale or manufacture
of spiritous. vinous or malt liquors.
Liquor is legally defined: ‘An alc‘o‘fi‘ofic
beverage—a. liquid.’ Alcohol in any
other form than a liquid is strictly
within the law.
"Analysis of alcohol shows that it
