On the frosty WIir:gsA_—— of the ”North Wind Christmas Day is Com-
ing. It will be joyous and happy and contenting, in exactly the measure
that preparations are made for it.
People who prepare early and unhurriedly and thoroughly are go-
ing to have anything to mar their pleasure. There will be no thought of
things left undone, of some dear little friend forgotten.
First of all, in all our thoughts, let us put the children. Christ-
mas means more to them than to all the rest of us. ’Tis their season of
full joy and complete delight. ’Tis the day on which they inaugurate
pleasures to be carried right, through the whole year. How pleasant to
fill that cup of pleasure full to overflowing for them.
Santa Claus is a real live presence to them. The good old merry
old chap we all loved in Our childhood days is just as real to them as he
was to us. 'Tis he who sends in magic fashion the gifts they so enjoy, -
’Tis he, as matter of fact, inspires all grown-up folks in their holiday
' ich0osing.
What a wonderful thing the Christmas spirit actually is! It makes
us forget ourselves, drives away all selfish thoughts, turns us to the
fine duty of making others happy. And the children are first in all Our
thoughts and all our hearts.
