Dean, who had fixed as a. recluse in a.
hut on the road leading up to Canaan
mountain. was arrested late yesterday4
by the state. police on the technical
charge of hunting without a license,
and later he was charged with-the
murder of Joseph M. Parsons. a. retir-
ed cattle dealer, at South Norfolk. on
the night of June- 7 last. Dean was
to be taken before Justice H. H.
Cook. in. Canaan, during today, and
'the State police were to ask for a. con-
tinuance of two weeks.
The name of Dean had not hereto-
fore been mentioned in connection
