Purpose of Klan.

The circular gives as the purpose
of the Klan "the éxempllficatlon of a.
pure and practical patriotism. the
preservation of American ideals and
lustitutons and the maintenance of
white supremacy." It tells that only

who believe in the tenets of the,
Christian religion and owe no allegl"
